Dabbling With Facebook Apps

My post yesterday got the gears (pun originally not intended) going in my head. I’ve got so many ideas I want to push out to Facebook Apps. Apparently I’m not alone either, as in just the last couple days of it being live, there are already hundreds of apps being published. Digg is full of them today, and I noticed Digg even has an app of their own - you can see it in my profile below.
So I decided to give it a whirl. I followed the tutorial on the wiki and set up their basic application. It was way easy! Just a little PHP or programming knowledge and you could have a pretty powerful application utilizing the vast network of Facebook. You can see my little app on my Facebook Profile by scrolling all the way down to the bottom. It’s called PicasaSync because that’s what it will be eventually - an app to sync your picasa web images. Go ahead, fill in the form and watch it reproduce the text you just typed. Ooooooh… I’ll post more here as I develop more.
On a side and more serious note, my sister, Michelle’s (the singer) in the ICU from a bad car accident. She’s okay, but she could use your prayers…

Well, fancy meeting you here! I was going over the post on Mormons and welfare at "Mormon Mentality" when I spied your comment and couldn't resist sneaking a peak at your webpage, now that we're related and all.
For the record, I FULLY agree with you on the welfare business. I actually read the initial post aloud to my wife because its been such a sore spot for us, both at BYU and here in Richmond.
I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I'm trying to call Rebekah for more information, but haven't succeeded so far. We'll keep trying and keep her in our prayers.

LOL! Small world! I'm glad you feel the same way as I. I think I'm going to post something about my feelings on it here, this time with better statistics and background. I think it's way too easy to get money from the government these days, and I think it's partially the responsibility of the citizen, not just the government.
Thanks for the thoughts on my Sister. She's really taking it like a trooper now. She's out of ICU, and they removed her chest tube so she's recovering well, still in pain though. I think she's really bored in that hospital however.
Keep in touch - Ben and Rebekah have my e-mail address if you ever need to get ahold of me. Rebecca (my wife) really wants to get to know Talya (sp?) better - my kids all think she and Talya are exact twins. In fact, Rebecca has the exact same dress Talya wore to the wedding.
